The good Son returns home! Fluminense agreed this Tuesday (21/06) the hiring of striker Alan. Revealed in the club’s youth categories, Moleque de Xerém underwent medical examinations and was in Laranjeiras to sign a contract until June 2024. In his first spell at Tricolor, Alan played 88 games and scored 26 goals.
Fast, skilled and with a keen eye for goals, Alan joins the squad led by coach Fernando Diniz for the season’s sequel. The striker did not hide his happiness to return to defending the tricolor armor and said that he hopes to repay the affection he has been receiving from the fans on the field.
“I am home. There’s no way to explain in words what I’m feeling. My family and I are very excited. It’s a unique moment and I hope it’s a great comeback. A lot of people, since the time I left, sent me messages. The affection of the fans for me has always been very great and I hope to be able to repay the match”, said the player.
President Mário Bittencourt recalled Alan’s first time at Fluminense, when they worked together, and celebrated the hiring of an important reinforcement for the team.
“I am really happy. It’s a joy to bring Alan back to Fluminense. I had the opportunity to work with him in 2009, when I was in the football department and he scored that goal against Cerro Porteño (for the Sudamericana). I have built a very good relationship with him since that time and I am very happy that he is back to be happy again here at Fluminense”, said the president.
Alan debuted as a professional in 2008, at just 18 years old. From then on, his rise was meteoric, with important participations and decisive goals in the historic sprint in the 2009 Brazilian Championship and in the team’s campaign in the Sudamericana of the same year. In 2010, after a great start to the Brasileirão, he transferred to European football, where he defended the colors of Red Bull Salzburg, from Austria. Four seasons later, he was sold to China’s Guangzhou Evergrande. The success in the Asian country was so great that Alan was invited to become naturalized and started to defend the national team.
