The Riom Badminton Club hosted on the floor of the Aimé-Césaire gymnasium dedicated to badminton the 3 e departmental championship stage which exclusively concerned mixed teams.
Fifty-two pairs, including ten from RBC, faced off last Sunday in six different series determined by each player’s points ranking.
The best result in Rio was obtained in series 2, the 2 e in the hierarchy, by the pair Caroline Varagnat-David Taragnat who beat Karine Kulagowski (VDD) and Alexandre Villard (Pont-du-Château) in the final with a very close score of 18-21/21-19/21-19 to take the departmental title. In series 6, Eric Avarguez (RBC) associated with Manon Thibault de Chanvalon (Chamalières) were defeated in the final by the castelpontine pair Pierre Brenon-Catherine Cheze with the score of two sets to nil (21-10, 21-12) .
