Fleurance. Judo: a resumption of activities announced and above all hoped for

the essential
The general assembly of the judo club allowed Aimée Pararols, president, to take stock of the past year, and to announce her departure.

In the presence of Mayor Ronny Guardia-Mazzoléni, and club officials, President Aimée Parasols, also deputy mayor in charge of sports, recounted the effects of the health crisis which marked a halt to the practice of judo. A stoppage that further penalizes the association because the return to normal has not yet taken place on the tatami…

The association was able during this pandemic, and in good time, to make the necessary decisions. At each episode, the club has thus taken the time to implement measures allowing everyone to resume judo in the best conditions. “Despite all the barrier gestures and the precautions taken, we can only note that these two years have seriously damaged us”, underlines the president who announces a decline in the number of licensees. While in 2017-2018, there were 84 licensees, in 2020-2021, there were only 47 and this year 51. A recovery is therefore observed, however, and suggests that next year a rebound will be noticeable.

Floods after Covid

To the Covid we must add the floods which blocked all the activities of the club. The president thanked the judokas who came spontaneously to protect the tatami mats. She also thanks the technical service of the city and the friends of the club who made their facilities available.

Aimée Pararols announced after reading her report that she was leaving the presidency of the judo club, while specifying that she would keep her license.
