He added: “The decision of the Fifa Disciplinary Commission has been notified today to the affected parties.. In accordance with the Fifa Disciplinary Code, the parties have ten days to request the reasoned decision, which, if requested, would be published on legal.fifa.com. This decision can be appealed before the Fifa Appeal Commission.”
The entity warned that it analyzed the documentation received from the parties and the Disciplinary Commission decided to close the disciplinary procedure initiated against the Ecuadorian federation.
According to the Chilean federation, represented by Brazilian lawyer Eduardo Carlezzo, Castillo was not eligible to play the tie with Ecuador as he was born in Colombia, and presented documentation in which he doubts the authenticity of his Ecuadorian registration.
For its part, the Ecuadorian Federation has been calm, and they always believed that their participation in the World Cup would not be affected, as it actually was.
