FC Bayern: Surprising planning with goalkeeper Alexander Nübel – Bundesliga

The future of the goalkeeper was questioned after Manuel Neuer (36) extended his contract until 2024. However, not on the part of FC Bayern.

FC Bayern is surprisingly planning to extend Alexander Nübel’s (25) contract. The goalkeeper, who is on loan to Monaco in Ligue 1 until 2023, should then return to Munich.

Sports director Hasan Salihamidzic (45) confirms to SPORT BILD: “FC Bayern plans long-term with Alexander Nübel because we believe in his quality and want to position ourselves in the goalkeeper position in the future. Alex had a very strong season in Monaco, keeping 11 clean sheets. Monaco also have him to thank for the fact that they still have a chance of reaching the Champions League through the qualifying round.”

Even an extension of the cooperation beyond the current contract (until 2025) is an issue.

Salihamidzic: “We can very well imagine extending his contract. We will coordinate all steps with Alex and his advisor in close exchange and always look for and find the best solution for FC Bayern and Alex. We are very happy that Manuel Neuer has extended until 2024 and we are very happy with Alexander’s development. I hope and believe that he can confirm his achievements.”
