expected at PSV Eindhoven, Walter Benitez confirms his departure from Nice

The 29-year-old Franco-Argentinian goalkeeper is leaving after six seasons of goalkeeping for OGC Nice.

Walter Benitez and Nice, it’s over. After six seasons under the colors of the Côte d’Azur, the Franco-Argentinian goalkeeper is leaving the Gym. “It’s hard to write what I’m feeling right now. Thank you to everyone who made me love this jersey. I thought we would be a few more years together. Despite everything and after six beautiful years, my last day has arrived. I’m not going to say “goodbye” to you… I say “see you soon” because Nice once, Nice forever“, he declares, he whose contract was coming to an end and who therefore leaves free.

Benitez, 29, joined the OGCN in 2016 from Argentina and the Quilmes club. He kept Nice goals 188 times (231 goals conceded, 55 clean sheets). His next destination? He doesn’t talk about it in his message, but Ruud Nistelroy did it for him: the new PSV Eindhoven coach has indeed confirmed, during a press conference, that Benitez is already in the Netherlands and that he passed the medical examinations on Monday.
