After four years at Eintracht Frankfurt, star player Filip Kostic’s time in Hesse could be coming to an end. According to Italian media reports, Kostic is apparently about to move to Juventus Turin. Accordingly, the Serb will sign a three-year contract with the Italian record champions, which will bring him 2.5 million euros per season. This is reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport. Also Sport1 reports of an agreement between Kostic and Juventus, according to which Eintracht has not yet received an official offer.

Italian media estimate the transfer fee at 15 million, Sport1 writes of 12.5 million euros. Kostic’s contract in Frankfurt expires in the summer of 2023. Kostic had been named the best player of the 2021/22 Europa League season by the European Football Union (UEFA). At the beginning of the past season, the 29-year-old wanted to move to Italy. At Juve he is to replace national player Federico Bernardeschi, who is leaving the club.

Formative figure of recent years

With Kostic, the Hessians lost their absolute difference player. The winger has been the formative figure of Eintracht in recent years, for Eintracht he scored 33 goals and an incredible 63 assists in 169 competitive games. In the 2020/21 season alone, Kostic prepared 17 goals in the league, more than any Frankfurt player before him.

At Juventus, Kostic could still fulfill his dream of Serie A. Before the current season, Kostic was already pushing for a move to Italy to Lazio Rome, temporarily staying away from training to force the transfer. In retrospect, it was also a stroke of luck for him that he stayed: At the end of the season there was a sensational Europa League victory.

No offer for N’Dicka, Polter to the S04

More reports about Eintracht’s transfer summer appeared on Sunday about other personal details: French and English media had already speculated about an agreement between Eintracht’s defender Evan N’Dicka and Tottenham. But there is said to have been neither an offer from Spurs nor contact between the player and the club; the defender wants to start training again with Eintracht next week. This is reported by hr-Sport and sport1 reporters Christopher Michel.

On the access side, one potential new signing can probably be left off the list: Bochum striker Sebastian Polter, who had allegedly already reached an agreement with Eintracht, joins FC Schalke 04 according to several media reports.

Good chances at Götze – decision at Castro

On the other hand, the chances of Mario Götze signing up are not bad: “Götze, one hears, would like to do that, the performances of the Hessians including the title win impressed him,” writes die Frankfurter review. Eintracht has competition from Inter Miami, David Beckham’s US club, and Benfica Lisbon with Götze’s ex-coach Roger Schmidt. All three clubs should be prepared to pay the four million euros set out in the exit clause.

The FR also reports that Eintracht agrees with Leverkusen striker Lucas Alario. “Alario, who initially demanded almost five million euros, should now make market-related claims in terms of salary,” writes the newspaper. Eintracht is now trying to push the fixed transfer fee of 6.5 million euros. Borussia Dortmund is also said to be interested in Alario, but the striker tends towards unity. According to FR, the transfer of 21-year-old playmaker Nicolas Castro from Argentina’s Newell’s Old Boys is “to take place in the next few days”.
