Due to the Australian goalkeeper’s dance, FIFA issues new rules regarding penalties

SUPERBALL.ID – The World Football Federation (FIFA) has issued new rules regarding penalty kicks due to the actions of the Australian national team goalkeeper.

On 14 June 2020, Australia played a match play-off intercontinental against Peru national team.

The winner of the match is entitled to a ticket to the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

In the end, the Kangaroo Country Team won the match via a penalty shootout.

The match had to go to a penalty shootout after both teams failed to score in 120 minutes.

Towards the end of extra time, Australian reserve goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne was introduced by the coach.

Redmayne was assigned to guard the Australian goal specifically for the penalty shootout.

Interestingly, Redmayne became the center of attention when Peru’s sixth kicker, Alex Valera, was about to take a penalty.
