Double commitment with good results over the weekend for the Arcieri della Quercia

Long and hot weekend for the Arcieri della Quercia, with two demanding races on the field of the Arcieri Sentiero Selvaggio di Venaria Reale.

On Saturday it was Valentina and Roberto Marengo who brought Cantarana’s colors to the shooting line. Good race for Marengo senior who positioned himself at the foot of a podium occupied by the professionals of the national team, with the score that in Asti had earned him the gold medal.
Excellent performance by Valentina who, after a subdued first half of the race, becomes the protagonist of a sensational recovery, with an improvement in the second part of 35 points and the best partial score of the classification, thus obtaining a more than deserved silver.

On Sunday, however, it was the turn of the regional plate championship in which Patrizia Atzeni stood out above all, who, despite being a master (and therefore trained on the distance of 60 meters), shone on the 70 meters, finishing second in the class standings, qualifying for the mixed team clashes together with Roberto Marengo and fighting to the last arrow in the absolute female direct clashes, finishing in sixth place. Difficult day for Roberto Marengo, victim of an unfortunate technical failure that forced him to do an entire race improvising and relying on instinct and managing, despite everything, to earn an eighth place a few crumbs away from those who preceded him, in a context, however, dominated by the national team.

National team in which members eliminated the mixed team Atzeni-Marengo in the first direct clash, which also defended itself with determination and dignity. Even in the direct clashes Marengo went out in the second round – with a bow that caused a tantrum – not without having made the opponent sweat.
Twelfth place for Massimo Musso among the compounds and seventh for Valeria Milito among the senior Olympic archers.
