DIM scored but it was not enough to reach the League final

Independent Medellin closed his participation in the Betplay League 1-2022 with a win as a visitor 1-5 against La Equidad at the Techo stadiumin Bogota.

The Antioquian team, led by Julio Comesana, thus finished in second place in group B of the semifinal home runs with 11 points, two behind the leader Tolima, who will fight for the title against Atlético Nacional. Those from Ibagué confirmed their classification by winning at home against Envigado 1-0.

From minute 3, La Equidad was outnumbered after the expulsion of goalkeeper Washington Ortega, who touched the ball with his hand outside the area in a clear scoring action by the striker Diber Cambindo.

In the free throw after that play, and after a superb shot by Andrés Cadavid, the goalkeeper who had just entered, Sergio Felipe Román, released the ball and on the rebound, with a header, Adrian Arregui opened the scoring.

At 18, La Equidad, playing attack, was surprised with a pass into the void that Juan David Mosquera did not miss to increase the account. When the initial part was ending, a penalty on Felipe Pardo was changed by Arregui for a goal.

In the complementary period, DIM entered unfocused and after two shots at the post the local discounted a penalty with Pablo Sabbag (60′). However, the Red imposed conditions again. The fourth goal came with Felipe Pardo (78′) and the fifth again with Juan David Mosquera (84’).

What did the DIM lack?

Having a broader and higher quality roster in several of its areas of the field is something that DIM needed to have a better performance in the final part of the tournament.

Pedro Sarmiento, who maintained that he does not like to talk about this issue out of respect for his colleagues, argued that there are highly trained technicians in the country, but if you do not have all the elements to have a broad and quality payroll to have a banking that generates trust, it is impossible to achieve great achievements.

Del Poderoso, the coach highlighted players like Yulián Gómez, Juan David Mosquera, goalkeeper Andrés Mosquera Marmolejo and midfielder Jean Pineda, who he said showed regularity and gave the team an important hand.

Similarly, he stressed that the Powerful requires reinforcements in each of its lines, since it was shown that in the current campaign it fell short.

In networks, some fans have requested the return of Christian Camilo Marrugo, who ended his relationship with Rionegro. In addition, the midfielder had stated a few months ago that his dream was to finish his career in the red box.
