The second division team presented their outfit for the coming season on Monday, the design of which aroused associations with the Reich War Flag.
The colors dark blue, white and red run across the jersey breast, the Reich War Flag, a forbidden Nazi symbol, consists of the colors black, white and red.
“Thank you for your feedback on our new jersey,” wrote the people of Kiel on Twitter late Monday evening. “Tastes are always different. We not only took note of the positive, but also the critical voices.”

However, they want to “make it clear that we distance ourselves in any form from racism or right-wing ideas. The colors of our jerseys are blue, white, red: the colors of Schleswig-Holstein. This can also be clearly seen in the original.”
The description of the jersey in the official Kiel fan shop reads: “This year, KSV will be appearing at home in classic club colors. A little based on the colors of the Schleswig-Holstein flag, this year we will once again show where we come from.”
