It took 13 years for the Conade National Games they will return to Sonorabut this Saturday the competition will return to our state when San Carlos, New Guaymasreceive the first day in the triathlon discipline.
They will be the municipalities of Hermosillo and Guaymas which will serve as venues for this great event in which converge 7 thousand athletes in 13 different sportswhich will take place between June 3 and July 26with the presence of the best exponents from all over the country in the children’s and youth categories.
the sports in Hermosillo seren: Track and Field, Weightlifting, Softball, Soccer, Archery, Handball, Judo, Trampoline Gymnastics, Table Tennis, Rugby 7’s and Sport Climbing; while Guaymas will receive the triathlon and open water swimming.
In our territory, 502 athletes from Sonora will compete among a total of 954 that make up the “Sonora Yo’One” delegationwhich will compete in 36 subjectsand kicked off this week through the sports of hockey and chess, based in Mexicali, Baja California, and La Paz, Baja California Surrespectively.
The first of the sports, the triathlon (based in San Francisco de San Carlos Beach), is subdivided into the categories sprint and elimination, as well as relay; the competition categories are: Junior Senior (13-15), Junior Junior (16-17), Junior Senior (18-19), Junior Senior (20-23), in addition to Mixed Relay and Relay 13-17 years.
On the side of Sonora stands out the national medalist Raul Ruizwho will try to continue his streak of medals in this type of event, where he has won eight medals in a span of seven years.
Ruiz Valenzuela’s gold medals were at the 2015, 2017 and 2018 National Olympics, in addition to two silvers in 2014 and 2018 (teams) and a couple of bronzes in 2016 and 2019 (teams); while already at the Conade National Games, in 2021, he captured an argent medal (the 2020 edition was suspended due to the pandemic).
