Carla Balagué is the third addition to the LFChallenge 22/23 squad. We are very pleased to announce the signing of the young center who joins Sergio Manzano’s team after completing his university stage in the United States.
“What convinced me is that the human group of the team (coaches and players) is very nice, the level of basketball and the fact that it is in Barcelona, close to my house. I wanted to return close to home after 4 years in USA.”
Versatile player, with a great outside shot, capable of playing with his back and facing the hoop. She runs the court well, has defensive and offensive rebounding skills and knows how to play free space. She will provide work discipline from training to matches, commitment to work, culture of effort.
Despite his youth, the interior has great experience competing and his resume shows it. He has been a member of the Spanish national teams since U12-U19; with which he won a world championship bronze; and she was two-time champion of Spain (U18 / U16) with Femení Sant Adrià.
“I think that at the beginning it will be a bit difficult for me to adapt to the game and gain confidence and get to know how they all play. But later I will adapt well since the style of play is very similar to mine and to the one I have always played”.
Balagué is up in Lima-Horta Bàsquet from Merrimack College (in the state of Massachusetts) where he played 26 games and had an average of 7.3 points per game during the recent season.
Now, his closest future is in the ranks of the salmon club. He gets involved again within a basketball club per se for many years.
“The objective is to have a season like the last one or better and to get to the highest possible level. Personally, to adapt to the team and the league and help the team where necessary, always leaving everything on track.”
