Canadian Jordyn Huitema leaves PSG for the OL subsidiary in the United States

One year from the end of her contract, Jordyn Huitema leaves the women’s section of PSG. The 21-year-old Canadian striker is transferred to OL Reign, a subsidiary of Olympique Lyonnais based in Seattle (United States). The capital club formalizes this departure this Saturday with a press release: it “wants to thank Jordyn for the three seasons spent in the Parisian jersey and wishes him the best for the rest of his career”.

Huitema had arrived in 2019 from Canadian club Vancouver Whitecaps with the status of world football hope. In three seasons, she will have played 71 games with PSG, the majority as a substitute, and scored 9 goals. Crowned champion of France in 2021, Huitema won the Coupe de France this season. Last summer, with her PSG teammate Ashley Lawrence, the striker was a gold medalist at the Tokyo Olympics with Canada.

On his Instagram account, Huitema announced his departure from Paris on Friday evening: “Three incredible years with an incredible club and team. I am grateful to everyone who came into my life during my stay in Paris. Now it’s time to start a new adventure and I couldn’t be more excited! “.

The Canadian was also known for her relationship with fellow Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, who recently announced their split on social media.

For PSG, it’s a new start after those of the German goalkeeper Charlotte Voll who joined the Austrian D1 and three midfielders: the Brazilian Luana, returned to her native country, the Frenchwoman Léa Khelifi, recruited by Montpellier, and the German Sara Däbritz, who joined OL. In the direction of arrivals, the club of the capital formalized Friday the arrival of the Dutchwoman Lieke Martens.
