Caipiras Flag Football maintains 100% in Paulista – Líder Esportes

The Caipiras women’s 5×5 flag football team remains undefeated in the Paulista Championship of the modality. The Piracicaban team collects four victories after four matches played in the state competition. Last Sunday, 05/06, in a double round held in the city of São José dos Campos, Caipiras defeated Mooca Destroyer by 25×6 and then overcame Rio Preto Weilers by the score of 26×13. In the first round, in May, the women’s flag football team from Piracicaba, which has the support of the Department of Sports, Leisure and Motor Activities (Selam), had already surpassed Capivaras (18×13) and Spartans Football (26 ×0).

The regular stage of the Paulista Championship foresees five double rounds and the next two games are scheduled for June 19, in Piedade. On the occasion, Caipiras will measure forces against Palmeiras Locomotives and Hainus Flag Football. The two teams were regional champions of the Copa do Brasil Sudeste and are among the favorites for the state title. The competition held by the American Pro Football Association (APFA), founded in 2012, has the final stages scheduled for the months of November and December.

“Our expectations are high, we came from a victory, but with some mistakes in the first round. In the second round, there were fewer mistakes, and the idea is to evolve with each game to reach the playoffs in the best possible condition, said Karoline Furoni, a Giga, a player for Caipiras and the Brazilian Flag Football Team. The Piracicaban team currently trains on Saturdays, from 2 pm to 6 pm, in the field in the Cruz Caiada neighborhood (396 Rua Brodosqui), and has the support of the Piracicaba City Hall through Selam.
