Caballo Márquez analyzes his time at Millonarios: “It didn’t go well for me”

Ricardo Márquez’s cycle in Millonarios has come to an end. The striker was presented as a new reinforcement of the Magdalena Union for the BetPlay League 2022-II, in which they will seek to maintain the category, as well as in the Colombia Cup in which they qualified for the round of 16. The Horse returns to the team in which he debuted as a professional and in which he has had the best numbers.

The 24-year-old attacker was officially presented as a new player for the Santa Marta team along with Argentines Agostino Spina (branded midfielder), Facundo Stable (far right) and Diego Chávez (mixed midfielder). Ricardo Márquez analyzed his time in Bogotá where he spent two years and although he was aware that he did not have the best resultslearned from Alberto Gamero and his coaching staff other key aspects for his development as a footballer.

“I was 21 years old when I left, I was a young promise that was just starting out. I was in Millonarios with a great coach and in a great club, the biggest in Colombia, it was a big and difficult responsibility. It didn’t go very well, but I learned other things. Now I am more mature, I am more focused on football, I have better movements and more technique. I am not the same young man as before and I hope to get ahead with this project. I wanted and longed to return to the Union”, he added.

During his time at Millionaires, which began in mid-2020, Ricardo Márquez played 52 games and scored 7 goals for an average of 0.15 goals per game. El Caballo, who during the first half of 2022 did not score a single goal, also contributed in attack with 2 assists. The player had a contract until December with the Ambassadors, but it was terminated by mutual agreement.

“Now a player with more experience arrives at the Unión Magdalena, with matches in the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana, who scored important goals for Millonarios and who also played in a final even though he was runner-up. A player who has also homered,” he concluded.

Unión Magdalena advances with its preseason with a view to the start of the BetPlay League 2022-II.
