The 26-year-old comes from the Bayer Giants Leverkusen and has signed a contract with the first division club until the summer of 2025. As the Bambergers announced on Wednesday, Reaves is the club’s third signing for the coming season.

Spencer is a smart player who will give us flexibility in the backcourt. In addition to strong throw rates, he brings good ball handling and a lot of spirit.

The guard was used for an average of around 26 minutes in 35 games at the second division club from Leverkusen last season. He averaged around 15 points per game.

“Spencer is a smart player who will give us flexibility in the backcourt. In addition to good throwing rates, he brings good ball handling and a lot of spirit,” explained Bamberg’s coach Oren Amiel.

Bretzel’s “big step” is rewarded

Meanwhile, league competitor ratiopharm Ulm continues to rely on his homegrown Nicolas Bretzel. The 2.12 meter center has extended his expiring contract by two years until the summer of 2024, the club announced on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old came to Ulm as a child in 2008. In the past season he played 27 games in the BBL, in which he was on the field for an average of almost ten minutes. “Nico made a big step forward in the past season,” said sporting director Thorsten Leibenath.
