Blois promoted to Betclic Elite after its success against Antibes

Blois chased the black cat. After two disappointments in 2018 and 2020, one accession refused and another prevented by the interruption and freezing of the season due to the pandemic, the ADA obtained its ticket for the elite on Saturday by winning (76- 67) in Antibes for the second time (86-66 Wednesday in Blois) in the final series of Pro B played in the best of three matches.

After a tense and close match (37-34 at the break for Antibes, 56-54 for Blois after three quarters), Mickaël Hay’s players struck the blow in the last three minutes and placed a 11-0 signed by playmaker Thomas Cornely (18 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists) author of six points, an assist and a foul caused in the last two minutes. Fourth in the regular season, Blois had eliminated Chalon-sur-Saône (2-1) in the quarter-finals and Vichy-Clermont (2-1) in the semi-finals before facing Antibes (6th in the regular season) with the home field advantage.

The Loir-et-Cher club, French Pro B champion in 2018 and leader before the interruption of the season in 2020, could not reach the elite four years ago due to a center of unaccredited training. He was still playing in National 1 (3rd level) in 2016. He joined SLUC Nancy, first in the regular season, in the elite in 2022-2023, instead of Orléans and Champagne Basket.
