Pitcher Trey Benton, the 23-year-old son of Ricky Benton II of Black’s Tire Service, has been promoted to Captains of Lake County (Ohio)the top A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Benton started the season with the Guardians’ Class A affiliate, the Lynchburg Hillcats. In 13 games, the right-handed relief pitcher made six saves, going 1-2 with a 1.13 ERA.

Benton has allowed just two earned runs this season, allowing just five hits.
