Belgians wash off the Orange hangover with a 6-1 victory over Poland in the Nations League

Belgium has washed off the hangover of the defeat against the Dutch national team in the Nations League with a victory over Poland. It was 6-1 in the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels.

The clock only showed fifteen minutes when Michy Batshuayi had already had three big chances. The first was after four minutes. Then, after a nice pass from Kevin De Bruyne, he hit the post. Moments later, he scored, but was offside.

On his third opportunity, Batshuayi ran himself free in the penalty area with the ball at the foot. However, the shot he produced next flew straight at goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski.

Poland ahead

Against the odds, the first goal fell on the other side. Sebastian Szymanski saw that striker Robert Lewandowski had rid himself of the Belgian defenders and served him perfectly. Lewandowski controlled the ball, tapped it past goalkeeper Simon Mignolet and credited his 76th goal in Polish service.

Just before half time, the Belgians deservedly equalized. Dragowski was able to save on a shot by De Bruyne, but the Polish goalkeeper had no answer to a nice swipe by Axel Witsel.
