Bart Meert becomes assistant coach at Union Saint-Gilloise

While the first on-pitch training will take place this Thursday, the Union have just announced other members of the coaching staff. Looking for an experienced T2 to support his new T1, Karel Geraerts, the Saint-Gilles club chose Bart Meert. The one who was a video analyst in Anderlecht for several years, had been promoted to T3 by Besnik Hasi in 2014. He then followed the ex-T1 purple to Legia Warsaw and Olympiakos. Since 2017, he was an assistant in Kortrijk, where he worked under Yves Vanderhaeghe, Karim Belhocine or even Luka Elsner.

The Union also announced that it had found a video analyst, which it had been looking for since the departure of Sandro Salamone, in the wake of that of Felice Mazzù. Marc Delcourt was nominated. He worked at La Gantoise last season.

It now remains for the vice-champion of Belgium to find a goalkeeper coach to succeed Laurent Deraedt, who has also left. “The Union will communicate soon” on this subject, the club said on Wednesday.
