Frank Van Den Broek wins the sixth stage and takes the leader’s jersey

Announced as the key moment of the Tour of Turkey, the sixth stage on Friday between Kusadasi and Manisa (160.1 km) delivered a verdict once again favorable to the DSM – Firmenich PostNL team, already twice winner with Tobias Lund Andresen.

As was predictable, the decision was made on the very last climb, a slope taking the riders to an altitude of 1240 meters, with passages at 11% and a patched road surface. Escaping with the Briton Paul Double (Polti-Kometa) and the Eritrean Mehawi Kudus (Terengganu), Frank Van der Broek maneuvered superbly to take the final victory by resisting Kudus.

In the general classification, he succeeds his teammate Tobias Lund Andresen at the top of the ranking. Van Den Broek has a four-second lead over Kudus and nine over Double. On Saturday, the seventh stage, which arrives in Izmir, will be much flatter.
