Modena therefore confirms the ability to attract national events, also welcoming lesser-known disciplines that deserve important stages such as the one represented by the PalaPanini, and that the municipal administration also supports to encourage their dissemination throughout the territory. The objective, in fact, is to encourage an ever greater presence of disciplines, also to intercept the interests of young people and citizens who may have abandoned the practice of other sports “.

The official inauguration of the event is scheduled for 11 on Saturday 2 July and, in the intentions of the organizers, the possibility of free access to all the competitions of the tournament, as already happened on the occasion of the “Grand prix” of June 2021 and in concentration of the Italian Serie B team championships last March, will contribute to spreading the knowledge of this discipline suitable for all and all ages throughout the territory. Although it is still little known and not very widespread in Italy, in fact, badminton is an ancient sport and one of the most practiced in the world; watching it is fascinating and fun, full of lightning-fast on-the-fly exchanges, head changes and eventful recoveries that make it the fastest racquet sport.

Recognized as an Olympic discipline in 1992, badminton arrived in Modena in 2014 thanks to a group of fans. In 2016 the Modena badminton amateur sports association was born, affiliated to the Italian badminton federation (Fiba), with an annual training program for the entire sporting season at all levels. It takes part in the Italian Serie B team championships and collaborates with the various bodies present in the area in numerous initiatives, also offering activities in schools and summer camps for children and adults; moreover, for its members it promotes training and specialization moments and trips in Italy and abroad on the occasion of tournaments and internships. Every Monday and Wednesday from 6pm to 9pm and Friday from 6pm to 8pm at the Gino Nasi sports center, free demonstration trials are organized for those interested in experimenting with this discipline.
