ATP > Jim Courier: “I like Medvedev because he’s authentic, he doesn’t want everyone to like him”

The former American player who is also a consultant for several media spoke to our colleagues at The Age.

He returned to his famous interview on the court at the Australian Open with Daniil Medvedev, an interview that had caused a lot of ink to flow since the Russian had “chambered” by the Australian public who supported Nick Kyrgios.

For Jim, Daniil’s words symbolize that the Russian is a special person on the circuit.

“These moments after the match are interesting because you see the tennis players as they are. I like Medvedev because he’s authentic, he doesn’t want everyone to like him, it’s like he’s not interested in learning how to handle the press, he just says what he thinks . There’s something magical about it.”
