At De Benedetti the most awaited match: Piacenza-Codogno

Piacenza is back on friendly ground after almost a month between two away matches and the half-season break. Sunday 19th, first meeting at 11 am and game two one hour after race one closes, the very classic derby del Po will be staged at the stadium in Via delle Novate: Piacenza-Codogno. The team led by Finetti currently occupies third place in Group A of Serie B, with only one match ahead of the fourth-placed red and white. The path of the two teams is so far very similar, made up for the most part of draws in the double weekly challenges. What comforts both of them is that this trend is almost the same for all the contenders, a sign of a marked balance that strengthens day after day. However, if for some teams the situation is a positive factor, for Piacenza and Codogno it sounds more like a disappointment, having both lost games on affordable paper. Analyzing the numbers it is clear that Piacenza prevails in attack, while Codogno has better statistics from the pitching mound and in defense. But as always and in all sports, derbies are always games in which pride and other factors prevail; as demonstrated by the two matches of the first leg in which the red and white won in both cases with a large margin of points. Results on the eve hardly predictable. The technical staff led by Giangio Marenghi has recently been struggling with a very busy infirmary and the training choices have been practically obligatory. However, it is hoped to be able to recover Nodari, who has not yet marked the first appearance token in red and white due to a bad muscle injury suffered in the pre-season. The Codogno dug-out will instead be deeper, which will be able to dispose of the Under21s coming from Crocetta by virtue of the double membership agreement for the young players of the two clubs.
