Culiacán, Sin.- While the Eagles of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa made history by conquering the first bronze medal in archery, handball was installed among the best eight in the country, as the activity of the Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua 2022 National Universiade continued.
In this way, this team led by Josué Audelo will play a quarterfinal game for the first time in their history. And they can do it as the first place to win and tie their third victory this Wednesday against the Autonomous of Chihuahua.

Benjamín Cháidez was the top figure in the game with 8 goals and Emanuel Sainz with 7 were the best scorers. Without failing to highlight the name of the goalkeeper, José Ángel García, who kept the rivals to just 13 goals.
“Very motivated by this victory and we are going for another victory and first place in the group”, highlighted Emanuel Sainz.
For his part, another of the leading scorers, Benjamín Chaidez, mentioned in reference to this also historic triumph: “One of the keys is the discipline that the group has shown following the instructions of coach Josué.”
“I had never seen this type of support for a handball team. Several of us are foreign players, our economic condition would not have allowed us to participate in an event like this if it were not for the support of the rector Madueña”.
This is the first time that a handball team from the Águilas UAS participates in a national university away from home (the 1st and only one in 2013 in Sinaloa), they have already achieved their first victory, they have already made it to the quarterfinals and they are for first place in the group.
BRONZE IN ARCHERY
The UAS Eagles of the women’s archery team won the bronze medal in the compound bow category.
Fedra Karolina Padilla Lafarga, Clarissa Yamilet Brito Santibañes, Paola Ramos Marentes, directed by Jesús Vicente López Alvarado; they made history.
First place went to Leones Negros de la UdeG with 220 points, second to Lobos BUAP with 183 and Águilas UAS with 161 points.
With this medal, the UAS Eagles reach 27 at the UACJ 2022 National Universiade: 6 gold, 5 silver and 16 bronze, sixth place in the medal table.
