A new logo for the Eagles

With a very different typography.

The Philadelphia franchise has decided to completely revamp the typography of the franchise’s name, while taking care to retain the image of the eagle as Eagles fans have known it since 1996.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Eagles made the new design official with the following statement:

“As of this Thursday, June 16, 2022, the Philadelphia Eagles will adopt and broadcast a new, refreshed typography. Now, the old Eagles typography will be replaced on all marketing and communication materials but the “Eagles Head” will not be changed, and will continue to be the main logo of the team. »

“The Philadelphia Eagles name serves as a secondary logo and is used to appear alongside the names of other NFL franchises, on uniforms and on merchandise. This change does not alter the logo of the franchise in any way. »

As a reminder, here’s what the Eagles logo looked like until Thursday:

According to the first reactions on social networks, the fans were not consulted for this change of logo.
