TSV Palling eV – Pallinger racing children again secured second place in the North Cup

After the 2020/2021 ski season fell victim to the corona pandemic, the very popular “Nordcup” was held again in the past ski winter 2021/22. The Nordcup is an alpine ski racing series in the heart of the Chiemgau, which has been organizing several ski races including a large overall ranking for its starters between the ages of 3 and 70 for over 25 years.

This year’s five organizing clubs (ASV Piding, TSV Palling, TSV Tengling, TUS Traunreut and TSV Waging) each organized a ski race – three giant slaloms and two slaloms. And in a sixth race, an eventing slalom, all five organizers helped together under the direction of the North Cup spokesman Seppi Hundseder from TSV Palling and thus offered the starters from small to large a sixth race in the North Cup series this year.

The end of a successful Nordcup season is always the Nordcup overall award ceremony with the overall ranking of all individual races in all individual age groups as well as a team ranking, which is hotly contested every year. This season, this overall award ceremony took place in the usual size on Saturday, April 30th, at the Michlwirt in Palling.

This season, 223 skiers aged 5 to over 70 from 20 clubs in Chiemgau took part in a total of six ski races. Fortunately, the number of participants even increased slightly compared to before Corona.

A total of 182 starters made it into the overall Nordcup ranking, for which the runners had to have started at least three races. The four best individual results were then used for the evaluation. With a class size of up to 19 runners, all places were very hard fought.

Among them were our 20 Pallinger racing children with many top performances and correspondingly many class wins and podium places.

The quick-witted Pallinger racing team

In the team ranking between the 18 clubs, there was again a three-way battle for the title between TSV Tengling, TSV Palling and TSV Waging am See, which TSV Tengling won this season. TSV Palling secured second place, followed by TSV Waging am See.

With an overwhelming team strength of 42 starters, the people from Tengling secured the team victory for the first time in the 27-year history of the Nordcup racing series and are therefore allowed to present the Nordcup challenge trophy for one year in their club home.

The Nordcup spokesperson team – Seppi Hundseder from TSV Palling and Luggi Moderegger from BSC Surheim – thanked all the organizers of this season for their exemplary organization of the races and the good cooperation and thanked all racers and their families for taking part in the Nordcup races , through which the Nordcup is kept alive and versatile.
