The day of the French: Dodin in turn goes by the wayside

She was the first Habs in the running on Monday but Océane Dodin could not start the day on better footing than the day before. In 1h29, the 84th player in the world gave up in two sets against Andrea Petkovic. It all came down to a tight and long first run (55 minutes), where the Frenchwoman paid for her laborious start. Broken from the start, it was quickly led 3-0.

As Petkovic served for the set at 5-3, the two players fought hard. Dodin dismissed three set points before unbreaking on his fourth opportunity. Unfortunately, in the next game, the Frenchwoman lost her engagement again, at the worst moment, with a costly double fault at 30-15. Once this set was lost, Océane Dodin never recovered from this blow. In seven participations, this is the 6th time that she has been eliminated in the first round.
