The badminton team of the Mazzei school in Poggio a Caiano at the finals of the student championships
This morning the mayor Puggelli and the commissioner Ganucci greeted the boys leaving for Trento after winning the regional teams: they will be the ones to represent Tuscany at the competition
The mayor of Poggio a Caiano Francesco Puggelli and the councilor of the school Fabiola Ganucci this morning 20 May went to greet the four boys of the Filippo Mazzei middle school who will leave for Trento next Monday to face the national Badminton at the student championships. Camilla, Francesco, Giovanni and Ginevra, after winning the regional championships on May 3 in Arezzo, will now go to represent Tuscany and challenge other teams from all over Italy.
“We wish all the best to these guys who we are sure will be able to keep up the name of Poggio a Caiano – said Mayor Puggelli. After these long years of pandemic and restrictions, they now have the opportunity to experience a wonderful opportunity for socialization that they and all of us have missed so much, in the name of sport and healthy competition. We will cheer them on and we already know that they will give their all, as they do in other school disciplines. Come on guys!”
“This school year – adds commissioner Ganucci – is about to come to an end and these 4 boys are also preparing to take the eighth grade exam, a fundamental step in their school career: the competition that awaits them and the 4 days that they will spend next week with many other students from all over Italy and will certainly enrich their experience as students and beyond. In the last month, the Mazzei school has also supported other competitions, collecting victories in the provincial and regional championships of orienteering and athletics and in the City of Prato Trophy in volleyball and 5-a-side football.
