Sub-13 Badminton team from Jalisco asks for support to fulfill their dream – El Occidental

They are 11 years old, but have big dreams and, above all, the desire to succeed in sports. They are Cinthia Moreno, María Ávila, Karolo Ulloa, Jotran Ortiz and Cristopher Torres, who make up the Jalisco sub-13 team in the badminton discipline and who earned their place in the Junior Pan American Games that will be played from the 17th to the 23rd of July in the Dominican Republic. The issue is that they do not have enough financial support to be able to represent Jalisco and Mexico in this important competition and that is why they are requesting support from all those who want to join and be able to pay for the trip and achieve it.

“The five athletes that we classified from Jalisco are 11 years old, and we are from the sub-13 category. In the National Qualifier, my teammates and I won five gold, two silver and two bronze medals and we were selected to represent Mexico at the 2022 Junior Pan American Games that will be in the Dominican Republic. For us it is very important, not only to represent Jalisco but also Mexico, in this competition it has become a fundamental part of our lives, badminton is our passion and we love it”, commented Ciinthia Moreno.

The athlete herself said that she has been dedicated to this sport for five years, which is demanding because of how fast the rooster goes in the games. She trains in a double session from Monday to Saturday and even in the holidays, demonstrating her commitment to the sport and her status in this discipline. And about the trip, she said that although her parents are making a great effort, the reality is that it is not cheap, much less easy to be able to pay for everything that the trip implies and take them to fulfill her dream.

“The truth is complicated, because it is not a small expense, the expense implies many things, for which we are asking people who want to join us to make our dream come true, everything adds up, believe us that if we put together an effort and support us, We are going to get there, we promise that you will feel proud and satisfied with our performance, because we are going to give everything for Mexico and Jalisco”.

For his part, fellow player Cristopher Torres, who trains badminton at Code Jalisco, stressed that anyone who wants to help them can call the following phones: 3339566123 and 3310910042 and manage to represent Jalisco and Mexico and show that they can bring a historic result for the country.
