This round of 16 between Sloane Stephens and Jil Teichmann turned into a funny match. After an ideal start with a break (she was leading 2-0), the Swiss completely collapsed on the Suzanne-Lenglen court. She conceded the next twelve games and let the American slip away in the quarter-finals (6-2, 6-0). For Stephens, it will be the third of her career at Roland-Garros (final in 2018) and her first in a Grand Slam since 2019. To try to clinch her place in the semi-finals, she will have to beat her compatriot Coco Gauff.
