Perušič and Schweiner had Olympic winners “on a shovel”, they lost the finals in a tie-break – ČT sport – Czech Television

The Czechs entered the match great and after a convincing first set at 21:16 they formed a duo of matchmen in the second. However, Mol and Sörum turned away, then turned the first setball themselves and leveled. “We had a better chance of ending it than in the tie-break. We played well in the first three quarters of the set, then the Norwegians started to play it on me tactically and I made the losses they decided on,” Perušič said in an interview with Czech Television.

In the decisive set, Perušič and Schweiner held the lead for a long time, but the ending belonged to the Olympic winners. Although the Czechs managed to avert one swordfish, the other did not hesitate with Mol and Sörum and decided to win the fifteenth joint title.

“We didn’t push them in the serve as in the previous sets. And that contributed to why we lost,” Perušič stated. “Now we’re going to discuss this with the coach, learn from the mistakes and go to the World Cup with a clear head,” Schweiner added.

In the final of the home tournament, Perušič lost to Schweiner for the third time in a row. “When I once left Ostrava in fourth place, I wondered if I had missed a single chance for a medal. Now we have three silver medals and it is one of our greatest successes and experiences,” Perušič said.

The Czech pair and Mol and Sörum lost the title three years ago and last year were not enough for the Dutchman Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen. In 2020, no coronavirus was played in the Silesian metropolis.

The women’s tournament was surprisingly dominated by the Germans Cinja Tillmannová and Svenja Müllerová, who came to the title from the qualification. In the final, they managed 21:18 and 21:16 with the favored Brazilians Talita and Rebecca.
