Perez advises Ten Hag: “You have done it 31 times and you are at the top”

Kenneth Perez thinks that the 4-4-2 formation in which Ajax played against PEC Zwolle (3-0) was a one-off. The Danish analyst would be surprised if Erik ten Hag would play with two strikers again against AZ next weekend.

“I think it was a one-off,” Perez says on the ESPN program football talk† “I think the Ajax trainer was looking for something different. Change of food makes food. He has not adapted to PEC, but he made sure that the players had a little more freedom. With two strikers you can evade a little more and move a little more to midfield.”

The former player of both Ajax and AZ explains why he would go back to the old, if he had been Ten Hag. “You’ve done it 31 times the other way and you’re on top. I wouldn’t do it and I don’t think he’s going to do it. It’s not like you go to a system and it works like a charm. You You have to look at the players you will have at your disposal.”

The team from Amsterdam will play a crucial game against AZ next Sunday. On the same day, PSV will visit De Kuip, so that the title fight can just take a new turn.
