Palo Verdes Championship: Laisné 20th after three laps, Green in the lead

French women’s golf is not just about Céline Boutier and Pauline Roussin-Bouchard. The proof in California this week with Agathe Laisné who, after three laps, leads the blue train with a 20th place (-3 total). She is five shots behind the irremovable leader Hannah Green (72, -8), who is one point ahead of Lydia Ko (70).

The 22-year-old Paris native returned a third card of 68 (-3, one bogey, four birdies), with 12 fairways, 14 greens hit in regulation and 29 putts.

Rookie on the LPGA, the ex-13th amateur player in the world is in the race for a first career top 10 on the most demanding of the women’s circuits. Alternating with the 2nd American division, Laisné, current 491st in the world and university champion in the USA in 2019, remains on four consecutive missed cuts this season.

After a delicate second round (75), Pauline Roussin-Bouchard meanwhile returned a card of 70 (-1) on Saturday. La Varoise is in 34th place in the standings. Less success for Céline Boutier, who had her second 73 of the week, after that of Thursday. The current 3rd on the American circuit is 56th (+2), one lap from goal.
