Hannover 96: Karlsruhe hero Maxi Beier also wins at racecourse – 2nd Bundesliga

That was a lot of fun again!

After a two-year Corona break, the 96th race day celebrated its comeback on May 1st. 13,000 spectators flocked to the racecourse in Langenhagen.

Long lines formed as the 96 professionals signed autographs. After the 2-0 win against Karlsruhe and the early rescue, Hendrik Weydandt and his colleagues presented themselves as cheerful stars to touch.

“I trembled on Friday,” said Bult boss and 96 partner Gregor Baum: “I’m glad it worked out and we can now plan for the new season.” Bucket had been – but the atmosphere was great.

Fun highlight: the Minitraber Trainer Trophy with three 96 trainers and two physios in the sulky. Head coach Christoph Dabrowski just watched.

Physio Thorsten “Kloppo” Klopp won with pony Emil der Große ahead of assistant trainer Kai Hesse with Shawn. Defending champion Lars Barlemann made 3rd place with Happy Hansi ahead of Rick Schaller (with Islay) and the defeated fitter Felix Sunkel (with Jackson).

Kloppo: “It was exciting and a lot of fun.” Sunkel could laugh at himself, joking: “I didn’t find the first gear.”
