Olsen Stadium at Blue Bell Park It is a baseball stadium in College Town, Texas, and is home to the Texas A&M baseball program. Completed on March 21, 1978, the stadium is named in honor of CE “Pat” Olson, a 1923 Texas A&M graduate and former baseball player for the New York Yankees’ farm system. Olsen Field, a five-time NCAA regional site, ranked second in 1999 regional audience attendance with 53,287. The first NCAA Regional Championship was held at Olson Field in 1989.

year 2004 Campus Sports Illustrated Voted Olson Field “Best College Baseball Field”. Olson Field is known to be one of the harsher environments in college baseball, as seen by Aggie baseball fans known as the RAggies because of their reputation for being very “rough” opponents.

Olsen Field began major renovations on June 7, 2011, funded in part by donations from the owners of Blue Bell Creameries in nearby Brenham. In return, Blue Bell received naming rights. Some of the stadium’s new features include expanded concourses and concession areas, luxury suites, a new press box, club seating, two grass berms, expanded locker rooms and coaches’ offices, a student sports center, and seating closer to the stadium. However, the seating capacity has been reduced from 7,000 to 5,400 to accommodate the change (though only standing room can still accommodate over 7,000). Olson Field reopened on February 17, 2012 for the first game of the 2012 baseball season, although some items were not fully completed; the remainder was completed on non-game days.

In 2015, the Aggies ranked 7th in Division I baseball in attendance, averaging 4,857 home games. On April 10, 2018, the refurbished attendance record set a record 7,537 people watching the Texas A&M Aggies vs. the Texas Longhorns.
