“We won’t see any horses. But we will feel them!” promises the Strahl Theater when the Dutch dance troupe “De Dansers” returns to Berlin with their play “Hold Your Horses” on May 4th. It’s not the first co-production, and yet another play has been created for which it’s worth exchanging the classroom for the theater.
The dance concert is about the need “to hold on to someone or something in an increasingly elusive world,” writes Theater Strahl, and the whole thing is supposed to take place with “guitars, twelve hands and the bodies that go with them”.
So there is also live music (Guy Corneille), and together with the choreography (Josephine van Rheenen) anything is possible, including acrobatics. As is usually the case with Theater Strahl, “Hold Your Horses” is a world premiere for viewers aged twelve and over.
Information for tickets is available online, by email to [email protected] or by telephone Monday to Thursday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on 030/69599222. The next performance dates for “Hold Your Horses” are May 4th at 11 a.m., May 5th at 11 a.m. and May 6th at 10 a.m. in the Strahl Theater, Kulturcentrum Die Weiße Rose, Martin-Luther-Str. 77, Schoeneberg. The evening performance on May 5 is sold out.
After that – on May 10th and 11th – the award-winning piece about life on both sides of the Wall, “#BerlinBerlin” will be performed again, which will then also be shown on the Weißensee open-air stage and in the Gutshof Britz. All information about this and other productions in the schedule.
In addition, interested teachers can find out online about the next meeting for contact teachers, which is planned for May 31 at 5:30 p.m. in the Strahl Theater, Kulturcentrum Die Weiße Rose. The theater states that it will provide “space, drinks and a convivial evening to exchange ideas, get to know each other and network”. At the end there will be a presentation of the new production “Zuckerland” at 7:30 p.m.
