What is certain (and a lot more realistic): if Anderlecht beat Antwerp on Thursday, the team from Brussels will finish at least third. One spot higher than last season, but the Purple & White will not steal a better European ticket. Anderlecht are third, just like a year ago, to start in the third preliminary round of the Conference League. The reason: last season cup winner Racing Genk finished second and the European tickets moved up a row. This allowed Antwerp, then third, to start in the play-offs of the Europa League. Things are certainly not going that fast this season, as cup winner AA Gent plays in play-off 2 and can therefore not get a better European ticket. (SVL)
