Not a day like any other: The longest winning streak in the NBA ends

Am January 9, 1972 ended the longest winning streak in NBA history. The Los Angeles Lakers around Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West lost to the Milwaukee Bucks with superstar Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 104:120.

From November 5, 1971 to January 7, 1972, the Lakers had won a total of 33 games in a row. The Philadelphia 76ers were outclassed by 40 points. In another match against Philadelphia, the Lakers scored an impressive 154 points.

The outstanding season of the Californians was also crowned with success in the final accounts. The Lakers defeated the New York Knicks 4-1 in the playoff finals and secured their sixth NBA title in club history.
