NBA superstar LeBron James dreams of standing side-by-side on the floor with son Bronny. He doesn’t rule out a return to the Cavs either.
“I will play my last season with my son,” said the NBA superstar from the Los Angeles Lakers The Athletic on the sidelines of the pro league basketball all-star weekend. “Wherever Bronny is, that’s where I’ll be. It’s not about the money.”
LeBron Raymone James Jr. (17), known as Bronny, currently plays as a point guard at the Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, California. Basketball hopes could be drafted in the NBA in 2024, by which time LeBron James would already be 39. “I would do anything to play with my son for a year,” said the four-time champion.
LeBron James doesn’t rule out returning to Cleveland
For his father-son dream, James did not completely rule out a return to Cleveland, where the 71st Allstar weekend is taking place. “The door for that isn’t closed,” James said, but made no predictions: “I’m not saying I’ll come back and play, I don’t know. I don’t know what my future holds.”
James, born 50 km away in Akron/Ohio, played for the Cleveland Cavaliers from his NBA debut from 2003 to 2010. After a move to the Miami Heat and two titles, he returned in 2014 and led the team to the first championship in franchise history in 2015-16. James is in the first season of a two-year, $85 million contract with the Lakers.
