Mission accomplished for Perrine Hervez at Guingamp badminton – Guingamp

It’s a homecoming for Perrine Hervez. Not in the costume of badminton player, but in that of trainer. A Guingamp badminton licensee from 2015 to 2020 before signing for Plérin, she returned to the Espace sportif Pierre-Yvon-Trémel in November. Her predecessor had just left the club who then contacted her to take over with the young people. “I am in the second year of Staps (Sciences and techniques of physical and sports activities) in Rennes and the club was aware. That’s why the job was offered to me, ”explains the young 19-year-old coach.

“Playful and fun-oriented”

Every Wednesday, Perrine therefore returns to the Côtes-d’Armor to supervise her group. “With my Staps studies, I can apply what I learn, confides the one who then wishes to move towards sports management. And badminton is my discipline”. A discipline that she tames with a new eye when it comes to preparing training sessions for the forty badminton players aged 11 to 17 years old. “I try to make them work on movements. It’s quite playful and fun. And depending on the motivation of each, we have to find alternatives.

A probable departure at the end of the season

If Perrine Hervez does not lack ideas to galvanize her troops, her experience on the ground is undoubtedly for a lot. With Badplérin, she has also just been promoted to Regional 2 for the 2022-2023 financial year, a season in which training young Guingampais seems compromised. “I don’t think I will continue because I will be in License 3 and I will have more lessons. But it will remain an incredible experience, admits the student-coach. Normally, the whole group continues badminton next year so I have succeeded in my mission. In addition, some will start competing when they were reluctant at the start”. The feeling of duty accomplished, Perrine Hervez can go away with a free mind.
