The third new defender could come from England. As the ‘Sun’ reports, the black and yellow show interest in Ronnie Edwards. The 19-year-old is regarded as one of the most talented central defenders of his year and earned his spurs for Peterborough United in the second English division last season. He made 38 competitive appearances for The Posh and made his debut for the England U19 national team in early October.

Edwards is not only under Dortmund observation. According to the English tabloid, alongside Aston Villa, FC Southampton, Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt are also interested. Edwards is still under contract in Peterborough until 2025, but a change is likely due to relegation to the third division. And as ‘Sun’ further reports, the transfer fee could amount to up to twelve million euros.
