Liverpool keep a shot at the title!
Jürgen Klopp’s team (54) wins 2-1 against Southampton. This puts the Reds just a point behind leaders Manchester City with one game to go. Master drama pre-programmed!
The game didn’t start well at all…

▶ 67. Minute: The strange winning goal. Walker-Peters heads in at Liverpool centre-back Matip from a corner. The ball sinks somehow into the corner. 2:1, it stays that way.
The master drama will enter its final round next weekend. Pep Guardiola’s (51) Man City meets Aston Villa, Liverpool hosts Wolverhampton. The decision about the English championship title is therefore made on the LAST match day. Pure excitement!
Puzzling Fact on the Edge of the Game: Klopp lets a B-Elf run up. The superstars Salah, van Dijk and Fabinho are injured after winning the FA Cup final (win against Chelsea, 5:6 on penalties). And Sadio Mané is not in the squad either! Also hurt? Nothing is known about this. Instead, Klopp said cryptically before the game: “We had to see who could walk again after the 120 minutes, who was physically or mentally able, because the season is obviously very intense for the boys. Some of them played pretty much all the time.”
He does not mention Mané’s name. Enigmatic! Especially because top striker Salah was also missing. With the win, Klopp didn’t have to justify his decision. Whoever wins is right.
