Kata Championships | Brandenburg Judo Association registered association

Several kata disciplines were advertised for the championships. Couples were registered for the national short kata championships for children and young people, the championships for adults and young people in the categories of nage no kata, katame no kata, ju no kata and kime no kata. These were held in the sports hall complex in the dojo of SV Motor Babelsberg and received an all-round excellent and dignified design.

The 2022 championships were opened with dignity by the vice president and at the same time referee for mass sports of the BJV, Dirk Krüger, the examiner referee Martin Reißmann and BJV referee referee Holger Lehmann, who is also the representative of the Judo department management of the host club Moter Babelsberg.

Under the proven chairmanship of Martin Reißmann, Klaus-Dieter Mielich and Dirk Krüger acted as adjudicators.

Our Brandenburg judo-kata pairs presented themselves at a good level overall and showed respectable performances.

“It was commendable and exemplary that the participating clubs were once again committed and presented with great interest. I would like to congratulate everyone on the achievements they have shown,” says Vice President Dirk Krüger.

He also thanks the judges and the team from SV Motor Babelsberg around Katja Gluske, Holger Lehmann and Manuel Gluske for the very good competition organization, equipped with a lot of heart and detailed work, and the problem-free support in the implementation of these state kata championships.

I hope that, as in previous years, the kata offers will be used by the clubs and that the athletes will be able to discover the corresponding kata as a supplement to training and competitions (Randori/Shiai). In this way, we also motivate members and keep them,” says Dirk Krüger. At the national kata championships, the youngest competitor was 13 years old and the oldest “judo rabbit” successfully faced the subject of kata at the age of 64.

In addition, our Brandenburg sports friends Michael Zapf and Mathias Zapf from JC Kyoko Jänschwalde, as members of the DJB national team, used the very good conditions in Babelsberg with their successful trainer Martin Reißmann to prepare for the European Kata Championships next weekend in Rijeka/Croatia.

“But I also wish the club management, trainers and parents to use the courage and vigor of their athletes again in the coming year, e.g. B. to “get involved” in the state short kata championships with 2 throwing groups to be demonstrated. There is still considerable potential here in our association. Participation is worthwhile in any case and participation is expressly desired. I urge the BJV clubs to do so, says Dirk Krüger.
