Jacobo Fernández from Vigo won last Saturday, with Rubén García as a partner, the bronze medal in the doubles draw of the Spanish Badminton Championship, the first medal in an absolute National that his club, CB Cíes, harvests, and the first also of a Vigo in this century. Jacobo, who was eliminated in the quarterfinals in the singles draw, reached the semifinals with García in the doubles after beating Pelayo Lucas Pinto and the number one, Adrián Álvarez, 21-14 and 21-18. In the step prior to the final, they faced Ernesto Baschwitz and Álvaro Leal and lost in three sets (23-21, 17-21 and 13-21) to take the bronze.
