In tears, Karolina Muchova gives up against Amanda Anisimova in the third round of Roland-Garros

After having delivered a first set of very good quality, which she won in the tie-break, after 1h22 minutes of struggle (7-6 [7]), Karolina Muchova was forced to revise her most optimistic plans downwards. The Czech twisted her ankle in the second set on a side slip. The intervention of the physiotherapist was not enough. After losing the second set (6-2), Muchova was no longer able to serve.

The Czech continued her efforts in the third set before throwing in the towel, in tears, as she was trailing 3-0 by the American. Amanda Anisimova therefore qualifies for the knockout stages of Roland-Garros. The American will face Swiss Belinda Bencic or Canadian Leylah Fernandez in the next round.
