Hünstetten Storm put away numerous failures

Second division baseball team BSC Hünstetten Storm celebrates two victories over Neuchâtel.

NEUBURG/HÜNSTETTEN – (red). The omens weren’t really optimal. Due to injuries, professional and other commitments, a very small team from BSC Hünstetten Storm made the long journey to Neuchâtel with only ten players. Five regular players were not available for the game day in the second baseball league at the Neuenburg Atomics, to date the league leader.

Coach Lionel Chattelle found something positive in the situation: “Then our young players will have a chance to gain more experience.” And what the coach then saw of his team, he must have liked. Because the Hünstetter proved resilience – and the substitute pitcher Sam Burtnick brought game one home with 10:8 for the BSC. Before US pitcher Kevin Magee stopped running after the second inning in game two and threw a whopping twelve strikeouts. Final score: 14:3 for Hünstetten. On May 15th, the action continues at home in Dickman Field against the Heidelberg Hedgehogs (12:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.).
