Great success for the judokas from Torrejón de Ardoz, who won 10 medals in the last Spanish Championship

The judokas of Torrejón de Ardoz had an outstanding performance in the last Spanish Championship for children, cadet, senior and veteran categories, which was held at the Pabellón Arena de Navarra (Pamplona) between April 29 and May 1 and which brought together more than 1,500 athletes from all over Spain. In total, ten medals were brought, one gold, three silver and six bronze, confirming Torrejón de Ardoz as one of the great powers of this sport in our country.

Torrejón de Ardoz, May 10, 2022. The Sakura Club had a plenary session and the four competitors with whom they attended this tournament ended up on the podium. Noel Senra was champion of Spain in the category of veteran -60 kilos. On the other hand, Sandra Manso and Óscar Manso won the bronze medal in the children’s category in -44kg. and -55kg., respectively. The success of the Sakura Club was completed by Nicolás Dorila with another bronze in cadet -73 kilos.

In the case of CDE Fresnos, its four medals came in the veteran category. David Montalvo was silver in -60 kilos; Daniel Rodríguez, was third in -81 kilos, Jesús Martín, bronze in -73 kilos and, finally, María Victoria Martínez, was also a bronze medal in -52 kilos.

The successes of the Torrejón de Ardoz judokas were completed by the Corredor del Henares Judo Club of Torrejón de Ardoz with the silver achieved by the couple formed by Mariano Arroyo and Juan García Pozo in the kata modality, ju-no-kata variant, senior category.

“Congratulations, once again, for having once again placed the name of Torrejón de Ardoz at the top of a Spanish judo championship, highlighting the high level of this sport in our city”, highlighted the mayor, Ignacio Vazquez.

For his part, the Councilor for Sports and Mobility, José Miguel Martín Criado, added that “in Torrejón de Ardoz we have great judokas, not only in lower categories, but also in seniors and veterans, who are the ones who convey their passion for this sport and the values ​​that it entails for the youngest and make the clubs of our city a benchmark in this martial art, not only in Madrid, but throughout Spain”.
