Dylan Groenewegen wins the Tour du Limbourg in a sprint

Well placed in the last bend, Dylan Groenewegen (Jayco AlUla) won the sprint with a one-bike lead over Maurice Ballerstedt (Alpecin-Deceuninck) and Arnaud De Lie (Lotto Dstny) at the Tour du Limbourg. The sprinter signs a second success this season after his victory in the Valencian Community classic in January. He is the second Dutchman to register his name on the Belgian classic list after Mathieu Van der Poel (2014 and 2018).

The finale was eventful in a right turn, 200 m from the line, which almost caused the fall of Tom Bohli (Tudor), forced to interrupt his sprint to avoid making a mistake. After 195 km of racing, the favorite teams had work to do to prevent the escapees from thwarting the sprinters’ plans. Very offensive, the Visma-Lease a Bike dynamited the race in the cobbled sectors, but Uno-X Mobility and Lotto Dstny led the peloton to put an end to the hopes of the adventurers. Defending champion, Belgian Gerben Thijssen finished in 5th place.
